Police are once again appealing for information as the investigation continues into the disappearance of a Vernon man under suspicious circumstances more than a year ago.

At that time Vernon RCMP said investigators believed foul play was involved.

Rory McDonald was last seen in the 3300 block of 35 Avenue, May 16, 2021.

Police said criminality is suspected in McDonald's disappearance and he was 59 years old when he was last seen.

"The family says that Rory had a motto, 'Everyone is good people,' and are making a plea to the public with the hopes that anyone with information related to Rory’s disappearance will do the right thing and come forward to the police," a Vernon RCMP media release issued today, Aug. 12, said.

Police have released images of two vehicles and said they're specifically looking for witnesses who may have seen the vehicles in any rural or remote locations in the North Okanagan area between May 16 and May 21, 2021.

When he was last seen he was wearing a black Volcom brand T-shirt with the logo 'Volcom Storm' on the front, blue jeans, which may have been rolled up below the knee, a grey/black skater-style shoes, and was carrying a large black backpack.

The two vehicles are described as: a 2002 Volkswagen Passat, spray painted black and partly gold or tan in colour and a 2004 grey Honda Accord.
