Thompson Okanagan residents are continuing to support their loved ones oversees with rallies for Ukraine.
It has been nearly a month since Russia first invaded the country, causing Europe's largest refugee crisis since the Second World War.
A Kelowna rally will be held today, March 20, at the Harvey Avenue overpass near the Parkinson Recreation Centre. It’s currently being organized by the Kelowna Stands With Ukraine group.
The group has been collecting donations to supply tactical military equipment and medical supplies to the front lines in Ukraine. Money donations as well as donations of tactical gear and medical supplies will be accepted at the rally today, according to the Facebook group.
In Kamloops, the Stand with Ukraine rally is taking place at Riverside Park at 3 p.m. this afternoon. Kamloops Stands with Ukraine is organizing the event and is also accepting donations of tactical gear, medical equipment and monetary donations.
They’re also encouraging others to bring Ukrainian flags to show support.

A Thompson Nicola man is also heading overseas next month to join the Georgian Legion, a paramilitary unit formed by mostly Georgian volunteers fighting with Ukraine.
