Kamloops and the Okanagan are getting a wet, cool weekend.
Environment Canada is predicting rain starting on Friday night through Saturday, and potentially some lingering showers on Sunday.
The high for Kamloops on Saturday is forecast to be 23 Celsius, and throughout the Okanagan Saturday’s high will be around 17 C.
Environment Canada meteorologist Matt Loney said Saturday is likely going to be the coldest day with temperatures staying around the low-20s the rest of the weekend.
“We do have an organized system coming through affecting much of southern BC and Alberta and so showers are going to be coming in looks like late Friday afternoon or evening and should last through much of the weekend. The system is going to be provoking some instability so looks like plenty of shower activity,” he said.
Rainfall around 5 millimetres to 10 mm is expected in the Okanagan, and in Kamloops a bit more is expected, around 10 mm to 15 mm. Some thundershowers could be coming through this weekend as well, most likely in Penticton and Kamloops.
