Rain will go away in time for the weekend in the Okanagan

Looking towards Kelowna and Okanagan Lake from the Upper Mission neighbourhood, Thursday, April 6, 2017. Environment Canada is calling for the rain to end and some sunshine this weekend in the Okanagan.

OKANAGAN - Despite all the rain today and tomorrow in the Okanagan, we should see some sunshine this weekend.

Today, April 6, we can expect periods of rain to end in the afternoon, according to Environment Canada, with about 10 mm falling in total. A high of 11 Celsius is the expected high. Tonight the temperature will drop to 4 C with partly cloudy skies.

Tomorrow expect more of the same with a high of 11 C, periods of rain and plenty of clouds. Friday night the rain will leave, but the clouds will remain along with a low of 5 C.

Saturday we’ll see the sun out a bit more, with a mix of clouds and sun and a high of 13 C. However, once the sun goes down, expect temperatures to drop to 0 C with cloudy periods overnight.

Sunday will be similar with a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day and a high of 13 C again. Overnight there’ll be a significant drop again as well, as the temperature falls to 0 C again, on a clear night.

Next week is looking similar, with some showers to start off, turning into a mix of sun and cloud. Temperatures will be in the mid-teens with clear, cool nights.

Typically this time of year we see highs of 14 C and lows of 1 C.
