A Quebec man has been arrested and charged with assaulting a woman at a Kamloops hotel last week.
Officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 1200 block of Rogers Way early in the morning on Friday, Dec. 29, after receiving a report that a woman was in distress and required the police, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP do not identify the hotel.
“When officers arrived they located a 20-year-old Quebec woman with significant but non-life-threatening injuries,” Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in the release. “She was transported to a local area hospital and has since been released.”
Jesse Bordage, 27, of Bellevue, Quebec, was arrested at the scene and held for a court appearance today, Jan. 3.
He's charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and attempting to choke to overcome resistance as well as three counts of breach of a release order.
Bordage will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
