L'ISLE-VERTE, Qc - Several people are believed to be missing in a major fire at a seniors residence in eastern Quebec.
Twenty residents were transported to safety from the residence in L’Isle-Verte, about 250 kilometres north of Quebec City along the St. Lawrence River.
However, reports more than 20 people live in the residence and their fate is not yet known.
The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. ET and several fire departments in the region have been called in to assist.
L'Isle-Verte is also about 30 kilometres east of Riviere-du-Loup.
