MONTREAL - A key witness at Quebec's corruption inquiry has been hospitalized after taking a spill this morning, forcing a delay in the hearings.

Inquiry officials say Ken Pereira should resume testifying on Wednesday morning.

An inquiry counsel says Pereira fell on an outside staircase at his home and hit his head.

Simon Tremblay says Pereira is undergoing tests at an area hospital.

The incident occurred just moments before an inquiry investigator was to pick up Pereira.

Pereira has been testifying about allegations of corruption inside FTQ-Construction, a wing of Quebec's most powerful labour federation.

Pereira has described how Hells Angels sympathizers and men connected to the Italian Mafia infiltrated the union.
