KELOWNA – What was originally going to be just a booth offering resources for victims of sexual assault outside the Hedley concert in Kelowna next month is shaping up to be more of a protest.

Brianna Amira was planning to offer advice to men and women outside the March 23 concert at Prospera Place, the last stop on the band's current tour but confirmed that she now expects a large group will protest the show.

Last month members of the band were forced to issue a statement after multiple women alleged sexual assault. Radio stations across the country have stopped playing their music and they’ve withdrawn from JUNO consideration.

A media release from the band says members take responsibility for “how we may have let some people down” and made a “collective commitment to change.”

Amira says she will still be at the Kelowna show, but she won’t be alone.

Kelowna is the last stop on their Cageless Tour, which started Feb. 5 in Abbotsford.
