Three suspects were caught by Kamloops police in a special operation last week to crack down on theft.
Merchandise was recovered and street drugs were also seized in the blitz on April 22, according to an RCMP media release.
Officers attended retail stores on Hillside Drive to provide extra enforcement in response to ongoing complaints about thieves making off with shopping carts full of stolen property.

Officers arrested a woman for theft who was also wanted on a warrant out of Prince George, and they recovered $800 worth of stolen merchandise from a woman wanted in Vernon. Officers also executed a warrant on a Kamloops prolific offender and seized 275 grams of suspected cocaine and meth from the vehicle of a man also wanted on a warrant.
“Targeting prolific offenders in an attempt to reduce property crime and to hold those responsible for it accountable, is a priority for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Syd Lecky said in the release. “Through projects like this, we hope to capture and prevent more prolific offenders from getting the chance to continue to steal from the businesses and people of Kamloops.”
