Reel One Entertainment has started work on the first of 18 movies for the Lifetime Network that will be produced in the Okanagan.

The movies are a series of romance stories, states a news release from the Okanagan Film Commissioner.

The first one is called Vintage Hearts.

Vintage Hearts stars Gabrielle Christian (Jersey Shore, Shark Tank, Girltrash: All Night Long); Cody Ray Thompson (The Man in the High Castle, The Shape of Water); Matthew Smalley (The Terror, IZombie, Riverdale); and Stephanie George (Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter; Nina’s World), the release states.

The film is directed by David I. Strasser (The Dating List, Just for the Summer, Love is a piece of Cake) and written by Aimee Pitta.

Five more will be shot this year and another 12 in 2021.

Reel One, which develops, finances, produces and distributes television films and series for a worldwide audience, is also building production offices in the Okanagan and will hire all local talent for the productions, the release states.
