After a brief attempt to rise above $1.60 per litre of regular gas earlier this month, prices at the pumps in Kamloops and the Okanagan are heading towards $1.70.
On Feb. 4, some gas stations were selling a litre of gas for $1.65.9 but the price fell back below $1.60, according to GasBuddy.com.
Today, Feb. 25, Petro-Canada and Shell stations in Kelowna and Penticton are charging at $1.69.9 as of 10 a.m., while most other stations are in the $1.52.9 to $1.54.9 range. Costco in Kelowna is listed at $1.46.9.
Most Penticton gas stations are at $1.58.9.
Kamloops, which has traditionally had lower gas prices than the Okanagan, is at $1.62.9 to $1.63.9 at most stations while Costco is at $1.56.9.
Vernon prices range from $1.48.9 to $1.54.9.
Some experts have forecast gas this spring will cost close to $1.90 per litre.

Vancouver gas prices are at $1.77.9, Abbotsford ranges from $1.69.9 to $1.79.9, Calgary is at $1.46.9, Toronto at $1.58.9 and Halifax at $1.56.5.
