'THE BUTLER' BEATS 'ONE DIRECTION' AT THE BOX OFFICE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- They might sell millions of records, but One Direction don't have what it takes to top the box office. "One Direction: This Is Us" had to settle for second place over Labour Day weekend. "The Butler" stayed in first for the third straight week. It's the first time a movie has stayed on top for that long this year. "The Butler" made about 20 million, dollars, two million more than the One Direction movie.

SUMMER BOX OFFICE - ANOTHER WINNER

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Bombs like "The Lone Ranger" couldn't stop Hollywood from having a strong summer. Movies pulled in 10 per cent more than last summer. Attendance was up nearly seven per cent.

'FIFTY SHADES' STARS REVEALED

NEW YORK (AP) -- The coveted leads in the movie version of "Fifty Shades of Grey" go to one of the stars of "Sons of Anarchy" and the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele. Johnson was Justin Timberlake's one-night stand in "The Social Network." She also played Fugazy, one of the cops in "21 Jump Street" and Kate in the TV series "Ben and Kate."

'DANCING WITH THE STARS' CAST TO BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW

VIENNA, Va. (AP) -- We find out tomorrow who'll be on "Dancing With the Stars," but Peta Murgatroyd already knows who she'd like to be partnered with if she's among the pros this season. Murgatroyd's dream partner would be John Stamos. She says he'd be "amazing." She points out that Stamos "has a theatre background, he can act, he can dance, that would be fantastic." The cast will be announced tomorrow on "Good Morning America."

'ROCKY FIVE' CO-STAR TOMMY MORRISON DIES

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- The boxer who co-starred with Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky Five" has died. Tommy Morrison played Tommy (Machine) Gunn. In real life, Morrison beat George Foreman to become heavyweight champion. He tested positive for H-I-V three years later. Morrison would later claim he never tested positive for H-I-V. The family won't release the cause of death. Morrison was 44.

'GIRLS,' 'MAD MEN' HELP JUDY COLLINS WIN NEW FANS

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The season finales of "Girls" and "Mad Men" are helping Judy Collins pick up new fans. She had a cameo and sang on "Girls." Her song "Both Sides Now" ended the season finale of "Mad Men." Collins says with Facebook and other social media, her name is out there more than ever, so it's almost inevitable that she'd end up on one TV show or another. Collins is on tour. She performs tonight in Hong Kong.
