VERNON - The power is back on for all Vernon and Coldstream homes and businesses affected by today's power cut.
Over 8,200 homes and businesses started the day without power, with the power going out at 6:23 a.m. this morning, Sep. 26, in parts of Vernon and Coldstream.
Hydro crews worked throughout the day connecting people gradually throughout the day. Just before 3:45 p.m., the power was restored to all homes and businesses across the city.
According to B.C. Hydro, three different outages took place. A power outage at 900 block 27 Avenue was caused by a tree across the wires. B.C. hasn't confirmed the cause for the other outages, however, several reports on social media said a transformer had blown up.
