KAMLOOPS - More than 2,800 B.C. Hydro customers were without electricty this morning in Kamloops, but power is back for the majority.

The power went out shortly after 10:30 a.m., June 2, according to B.C. Hydro, and the electricity was flowing again to all but 40 cutomers by about 11:40 a.m.

B.C. Hydro's Dag Sharman says the power has been rerouted around the downed power line on Kingston Avenue near Halston Avenue, adding the customers without power should get it back soon.

Sharman says once repairs are done on the downed line, the power will be switched back to its original route but customers won't notice the switch.

The outage covered a large section of the North Shore, east of Happyvale Avenue and south of Westsyde Road.
