Grande Prairie woman identified as snowboarder who died on B.C. mountain

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - A woman from Grande Prairie, Alta., has been identified as a snowboarder killed outside the Powder King Mountain Resort north of Prince George, B.C.

Twenty-seven-year-old Maxine Peters died Dec. 14 while boarding out of bounds near the resort, in the centre of Pine Pass in northern B.C.

The BC Coroners Service says Peters lost control after going over a small jump and fell into some very deep, powdered snow.

The cause of death hasn't been released.

The coroners' service and the Mackenzie RCMP continue to investigate the death. (MooseFM)
