Possible thunderstorms this afternoon, showers forecast for Saturday in Kamloops

The sunny skies in Kamloops are expected to give way to showers with the possibility of a thundershower this afternoon. The weekend looks unsettled and showery on Saturday.

There’s no end in sight to the unsettled weather conditions Kamloops residents have been experiencing for the past several weeks.

An unremarkable blend of clouds, showers, sun and cloud and slightly below seasonal temperatures are in store for the next few days, along with a weekend that will see showers on Saturday and daytime highs 5 degrees below normal on Sunday.

Environment Canada says to expect mainly cloudy conditions today with a 60 per cent chance of showers, a high of 21 C and a low of 8 C tonight.

There is a risk of a thunderstorm later today as well.

More clouds are in store for Friday with a 40 per cent chance of showers later in the day.

Friday’s high should reach 23 C with a low of 11 C.

The weekend should be unsettled as well, with showers on Saturday and a high to 21 C.

Clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers are forecast overnight with a low to 11 C.

Sunday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 19 C, but by Sunday night the clouds should return along with a 30 per cent chance of showers, and a low of 11 C.

Monday is expected to be mainly cloudy with a high of 19 C, followed by clouds and a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs of 22 C and 23 C respectively.

Kamloops' normal high and low temperatures for early June are 24 C and 10 C.
