The newly established Apex Community Association has an unusual event planned for Saturday, Aug. 22.

The association is hosting a drive-in movie theatre ‘triple header’ event, to take place in the main Apex Village parking lot, and anyone is invited.

COVID-19 protocols will restrict the event to 50 vehicles however, to allow for socially-distanced parking.

The triple header will be shown on the largest outdoor screen in the Okanagan at 40 feet, using the most powerful projector, says association Vice-President Andrew Drouin.

“We were sitting around putting our heads together to decide what we could do for a fundraiser, when someone thought of this, and we all thought, ‘what a great idea,’ he says.

The triple header will be shown on the largest outdoor screen in the Okanagan at 40 feet, using the most powerful projector, says association Vice-President Andrew Drouin.

Movies on the bill include “’50’–On the Fur Bride Trail,” "Klunkerz, A film about mountain bikes," and "‘Dirtbag’– The Legend of Fred Beckey.”

Tickets are on sale now at Eventbrite. The event is a fundraiser for the Apex Community Association.

Cost is $25 per couple, or fill the car for $40.

The event is the first major fundraiser for the Apex Community Association, which formed last fall.
