The Lake Country RCMP responded to a dog fight last month that left one of the animals dead.
On March 8, around 7:30 p.m., Lake Country RCMP officers were called near Lodge Road and Bottom Wood Lake Road to break up a fight between two large bull terriers and a Pomeranian, according to a news release issued, April 1.
The two terriers were on leash, but the owner was still unable to control his animals as they attacked the Pomeranian.
The owner of the Pomeranian attempted to protect her dog and was bitten in the process.
Upon the separation of the animals by the owners and officers, the Pomeranian was brought to a veterinary clinic to receive emergency care but later succumbed to its injuries.
The owner of the Pomeranian also had to receive medical attention for the bite she received.
The bull terriers were seized from the owner's home in Lake Country on March 13, RCMP said.
A warrant was executed by RCMP and Lake Country bylaw officers.
A bylaw ticket was also issued to the owner who will have to agree to a number of rules and conditions to get his animals back.
