KAMLOOPS - A crash between an unmarked Kamloops RCMP vehicle and another vehicle last month is being investigated by the province's police watchdog.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. says in a media release issued today, Jan. 22, it is looking for witnesses after the collision involving the unmarked police vehicle and a civilian vehicle last month.

The collision happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2018 at Grasslands Boulevard and Westsyde Road in Kamloops.

No other information about the crash has been released by either RCMP or the investigations office. The indpendent civilian oversight agency looks into all B.C. police incidents that involve serious harm or death.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw, heard or may have dash cam footage of the collision to contact the witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
