Police watchdog investigates Kamloops RCMP after death at bus loop

Kamloops RCMP is being investigate by B.C.'s police watchdog after a man died in the Kamloops bus loop.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. didn't offer many details about the incident, but police were called to the North Shore bus loop where a man appeared to be unconscious.

The caller told RCMP about the man at roughly 5 p.m., June 28, but it's unclear whether police responded to the area at all, according to a news release from the Independent Investigations Office of B.C.

Two hours later, that same man was pronounced dead at the bus loop by paramedics.

B.C.'s police watchdog is now investigating to determine whether "police actions or inactions plate a role" in his death.
