Kamloops RCMP are looking to the public to help identify a man who assaulted a restaurant employee.
Police were called to the Valleyview restaurant more than a month ago, but investigators are now releasing a surveillance image of the man, hoping someone may be able to identify him, according to an RCMP news release. RCMP don't identify the restaurant.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of the East Trans-Canada Highway on Sept. 21, after a man allegedly became irate and assaulted an employee.
It's not clear what led to the outburst nor what injuries the employee sustained.
The man then left in a 2015 grey Ford pickup.
“So far, police have been unable to identify the suspect and are releasing an image of him to the public in an attempt to further the investigation,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, between 50 and 60 years old, 6' tall with a white beard and black-framed glasses. He also has a full sleeve of tattoos on his right arm and tattoos on both calves.
Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-34420.
