Police are renewing their request for information about a Merritt man who went missing almost nine years ago.

Dean Kelly Morrison, 44 at the time, left his job contract painting at Stump Lake Ranch near Kamloops on Oct. 22, 2013, but never returned home.

The investigation into the disappearance is still open and police are hoping someone knows something that could help bring closure to his family, said Kamloops RCMP in a media release.

“Over the years we have maintained contact with Dean’s family, who sadly still don’t have any concrete answers about the disappearance of their loved one,” Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Bill Wallace said in the release.

“If you know what happened to Dean, or have information that could be related to this investigation and haven’t shared it with us yet, it’s not too late. Not knowing what’s happened to a loved one can create an unmeasurable void for any family.”

The last official search for Dean occurred in 2019 when Search and Rescue covered new and previously explored areas in and around Stump Lake, south of Kamloops.

If you have any information about Dean Morrison’s disappearance, please contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
