VERNON - Police are releasing a photo of a robbery suspect with the hope that someone will be able to identify him.

The robbery occurred at a liquor store in the 6300 block of Stickle Road just before 11 p.m. March 16, RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says.

A lone man entered the store, allegedly produced a black hand gun and demanded cash from the employee, Brett says. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee was not injured during the incident.

“Officers were unable to locate their suspect, however located clothing a short distance away which is believed to belong to the suspect,” Brett says. “The clothing that was seized will be analyzed for a DNA profile, which will aid police in hopefully identifying a suspect.”

The suspect is described as roughly 5’9”, 45 to 50 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweater with the lettering “Metal Mulisha” on the front and back, a dark-coloured bandana across the face and a grey and black ball cap with “snap-on” written on the front.

“Robberies involving businesses can be stressful for employees, however, many businesses thankfully have best practices in place which includes the use of video surveillance,” Brett says. “If you recognize this alleged suspect or have more information about this incident please contact the Vernon RCMP or Crime Stoppers."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online.
