A student's artwork stolen from UBC Okanagan last weekend has been recovered by police.

A UBCO student reported their five-foot tall work of art painted on piece of old wall missing to police, Feb. 10.

The student had left the artwork in the rear loading area at the Innovation Precinct 1 building at 1540 Innovation Drive and the next morning it was gone.

RCMP said in a media release today, Feb. 15, a pickup truck with the stolen artwork in it was spotted on surveillance video.

Officers tracked down the pickup and a suspect to a home on Chase Road in Lake Country.

The RCMP says there were no arrests and no charges will be laid.

The artwork is back in the hands of the artist.
