PENTICTON - A police raid at home in a small town along Highway 3 between Osoyoos and Rock Creek resulted in the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen property yesterday.
RCMP officers from Midway and Osoyoos raided a known problem residence on Alden Road in the community of Bridesville yesterday, March 4, recovering tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods, believed taken in recent days from Midway, Penticton and Osoyoos, according to an RCMP media release.
A camper van, numerous high end power tools, a tow-behind generator, believed to be valued at $50,000, a motorcycle registered in Washington State and light tower were a few of the items recovered in the raid. While en route to the scene, police also recovered another tow-behind generator believed destined for the same property.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid yet. Names of suspects or those detained are not being released at this time.
Residents in rural areas are being reminded to keep vigilant of suspicious activity and to report such activity to RCMP.
