Several people were arrested in downtown Kelowna this morning during a raid that is part of an investigation linked to organized crime.
Kelowna RCMP along with heavily-armed officers from the South East District Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at about 11 a.m. today, Nov. 17, in the 1000 block of Martin Avenue at the request of the Vancouver Police Department.
“We are conducting an ongoing criminal investigation related to violence and organized crime,” the Vancouver Police Department said in an emailed statement to iNFOnews.ca. “We do not have any additional information to share at this time.”
Several arrests were made as part of the ongoing investigation.
“Although at this time we cannot comment on any of the specifics, this is an excellent example of how multiple police agencies united to make our streets safer throughout British Columbia,” Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer for Kelowna RCMP, said in a news release.
