Original Publication Date April 29, 2021 - 11:47 AM

Kamloops RCMP responded to reports of a man climbing the railing on Overlanders Bridge this morning.

The reports came around 11:10 a.m. today, April 29, and resolved with the man walking away safely, according to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn.

Kamloops RCMP, including Car 40, responded to the bridge but calls for first responders were cancelled once police were able to speak to the man.

He was not apprehended in this morning's incident, Evelyn said.

RCMP, including Car 40, also responded to reports of a man hanging from the bridge around 7:15 p.m. yesterday, April 28. Officers blocked traffic on both sides of the bridge, RCMP said.

When police arrived, they located a man walking along the bridge. He was safely apprehended and taken to hospital for assessment and care.
