The RCMP is investigating a homicide after the body of a man was found in a Keremeos home last night.
Police officers were called to a residence in the 100-block of 9 Avenue in Keremeos for a report of an unresponsive man, at roughly 11 p.m., Feb. 20.
"When emergency personnel arrived it was determined the man had died and criminality was suspected in his death," according to the RCMP's press release.
It is an isolated incident and the general public is not at risk. It is not related to other ongoing investigations in the South Okanagan, said Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the BC RCMP, in the press release.
The RCMP's Southeast District Major Crime officers has arrived in Keremeos and have taken over the the investigation. They are expected to remain in the area for several days to gather evidence.
Police are not identifying the man.
