KELOWNA - A chocolate lab from Squamish was recovered by police last night after they received a tip about two men in a suspected stolen truck.

Mounties were called to investigate about 10 p.m. June 24 with a description of the two men in the truck. They were told the men might have been attempting to sell stolen property out of the vehicle downtown.

Police found the truck at 12:30 a.m. at the 7 Eleven on Lakeshore Road. One of the men spotted officers and ran off while the second was apprehended inside the green GMC Sierra that was confirmed stolen out of Perth County, Ontario earlier this month.

Wyatt, chocolate lab was inside the truck. He was stolen from Squamish along with a different truck on Sunday. Police said the friendly dog was visibly shaken from the ordeal but overjoyed when returned to his owners.

A 35-year-old Ontario man remains in custody to face possible charges of possession of stolen property. The second man has yet to be located.

The investigation is ongoing.
