Police arrested this guy for drug offences, then had to add assaulting police

Police have a 33 year old Saskatchewan man behind bars after he assaulted police officers in Penticton yesterday, July 25, 2018.

PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP’s Targeted Enforcement Unit took a prolific offender off Penticton streets following a violent struggle yesterday.

RCMP arrested 33-year-old Jordan Wall after they say he resisted and assaulted officers who were arresting him for possession of heroin and fentanyl while seated outside the city’s welfare office yesterday afternoon, July 25.

Wall was subdued and taken into custody where he now faces charges of drug possession, assaulting police and resisting arrest. He made a court appearance today and has been remanded in custody pending his next appearance.

Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued today, Wall has no fixed address and was arrested under similar circumstances in late May. He was released just 10 days ago.

“This is a prime example of what we don’t want in our city. My understanding is he moved from Penticton to Saskatchewan less than a year ago and has been a constant thorn in our side since his arrival. He needs to stop committing crime, or simply leave,” RCMP Cpl. Scott VanEvery said.
