KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP have arrested a suspect after a local high school received a bomb threat last week.
Colby Joseph Adamson, born 2001, has been charged with one count of uttering threats to burn, destroy or damage property and one count of mischief, according to online court documents.
Classes were temporarily interrupted on Friday, Sept. 20 after Sa-Hali Secondary School received its second threat in one week.
RCMP searched the school and declared it safe in the early afternoon.
The threat on Friday against Sa-Hali Secondary School was one of six threats against the city’s schools in 11 days.
Last week, police also arrested a local teen after an apparent threat to Kamloops Christian School and photos of the youth with guns appeared online.
Police and school district officials are urging parents to speak with their children on the severity of making these threats and the impact they have on the community.
Adamson’s next court appearance is on Sept. 26.
