Plane to get mechanical inspection following minor incident at YLW

KELOWNA - There was some tension at the airport Monday when the crew of a commercial flight approaching YLW reported an indicator light on the right side landing gear was not glowing green to indicate the wheel was fully locked.

The traffic control tower called the airport's Aircraft Rescue Firefighters along with the Kelowna Fire Department, B.C. Ambulance and RCMP for the two alarm standby.

The Northwestern Air Lease flight from Red Deer was carrying six people along with 2,600 pounds of fuel. It landed safely at 12:40 p.m. without incident.

The aircraft will be checked out in a mechanical review before moving on to its next destination.
