KAMLOOPS – The long-time executive director of the Kamloops Art Gallery died last night, Oct. 9.
Jann Bailey guided the gallery for over 25 years and oversaw the 1998 construction of the KAG’s current building.
The well-respected gallery executive served as the president of the Canadian Art Museum Directors’ Organization and the Canadian Museums Association.
Her many awards and honours included the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Distinguished Service Award from the B.C. Museums Association and an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Thompson Rivers University.
Plans for a memorial have yet to be announced.
