PENTICTON - Thieves made off with two pickup trucks over the weekend in the South Okanagan, one of which was recovered in West Kelowna and a suspect taken into custody.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says at around 8:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, a 2015 Dodge Ram crew cab pickup was stolen from a Fairway Avenue driveway. The owner had left the truck running while getting his kids from the house.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 8, the stolen pickup was discovered parked on the front lawn of a home on Boucherie Road in West Kelowna. Wrigglesworth says the man inside was arrested and faces charges of possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

In a separate incident on Oct. 7 a truck was reported stolen from a home in the 8100 block of the Princeton-Summerland Road. A blue 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck with B.C. license plate KD9443 was reported missing around 8:15 a.m. after the unlocked vehicle was left with keys in the glovebox.
