OSOYOOS - Osoyoos RCMP have issued a warning to residents about a telemarketing fraud making the rounds.
The South Okanagan Similkameen School District notified police after hearing about an individual making calls to local residents requesting donations for the Osoyoos High School healthy kids program, according to an RCMP media release issued today, July 23.
School administrators told police they are not actively seeking donations for the program.
RCMP say the phone number used to make the calls is also associated with several other scams.
Police are warning the public to be careful when considering payment for anyone calling to ask for donations.
