The weather office is calling for ideal Halloween trick or treating weather tonight.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says this evening, Oct. 31, should be just about perfect Halloween weather with patchy cloud, light winds and evening temperatures in the 2 to 4 Celsius range.

"Nothing strikes me as bad for this Halloween forecast," Lundquist says.

Nationally, B.C. is topping the list of the best places to trick or treat this Halloween in Canada.

Temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing mark for much of the prairies, while from Ontario east to the Maritimes a fall storm is expected to bring wind, rain and snow to much of Ontario. Conditions are expected to be so soggy in Quebec and some municipalities in that province are postponing Halloween.

The forecast today calls for clearing this afternoon with a high of 7 C. The temperature is expected to drop to -3 C overnight under a partly cloudy sky.

Tomorrow should see a mix of sun and cloud with a 15 km/h wind and a high of 6 C but expect a windchill of -7 C in the morning. Overnight the mercury is expected to drop to 1 C.

Clouds are forecast for Saturday with a high of 6 C and a low of 4 C.

There is a 40 per cent chance of showers on Sunday under mainly cloudy skies. Sunday’s high should reach 8 C with a low of 3 C.

Monday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 10 C and a low of 2 C.

Tuesday is also expected to be a sun and cloud mix with a high of 8 C and a low of 2 C.

A sun cloud mix is also forecast for Wednesday with a high of 7 C.

Normal temperatures this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 8 C and lows of 0 C.
