PENTICTON - Disc golfing in the Peach City is about to get a boost with the opening of a second course in Penticton.

Penticton Disc Golf Club president Shawn Black says the disc golf club and the Rotary Club of Penticton will host a grand opening of the Rotary Marina View Disc Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the ceremony, which gets underway at 1 p.m. at the first tee on the course.

The nine hole course is located on the esplanade above Lake Okanagan Marina and was built by the Penticton Disc Golf Club with funding from the Rotary Club.

Following Saturday’s opening ceremonies, the course will be open to those wishing to give the sport a try. There will be spare discs on hand for those new to the sport.

The new course complements the Three Blind Mice disc golf course, located in the mountain biking trail area just north of Penticton. The Three Blind Mice course is an 18 hole venue, located off Riddle Road on the way to Naramata.
