PENTICTON - A Wilson Street woman is resting today after the tumultuous delivery of her baby girl last night.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says at about 11:22 p.m., Feb. 27, an abandoned 911 call was made from a home on Wilson Street.

When the dispatcher called back, they could hear a woman screaming that she was having a baby.

Wrigglesworth says a healthy baby girl was delivered just prior to the arrival of police. He says the baby’s father was also present.

Paramedics transported the baby to hospital as a precaution.
