Penticton Safeway employee tests positive for COVID-19

A report issued by Sobeys Inc. confirms an employee at the company’s Safeway store in Penticton recently tested positive for  COVID-19.

The employee tested positive on Oct. 13 — and last worked on Oct. 9 — at Penticton Safeway located at 1301 Main St.

“We will always follow the guidance of Public Health to support our teammates who are impacted by COVID-19,” Sobeys said on a web page listing COVID-19 cases within the company across Canada.

“Out of respect for confidentiality, we will never release personal information about our people. When required, we will communicate with customer who have shopped at the impacted location, with store signage, outlining our steps to manage the situation,” the company stated.

Other recent COVID-19 cases reported within the organization occurred at the North Vancouver Safeway at 780 - 2601 Westview Dr., where an employee tested positive Oct. 5, and at the 1175 Mt. Seymour Road Safeway in North Vancouver, where an employee tested positive on Oct. 10.
