Penticton RCMP seek suspect in attempted armed robbery

Penticton RCMP are seeking this suspect following an attempted armed robbery at a downtown pawnshop yesterday, Jan. 16, 2018.

PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are seeking a man who attempted to rob a downtown pawnbroker yesterday.

Police spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a press release today, Jan. 17, a man entered Mike’s Pawnbrokers at 333 Main St. around 5:50 p.m. Jan. 16, brandishing what appeared to be a handgun.

The man demanded cash but left the business empty handed.

The man is described as Caucasian, around six feet tall and 170 pounds, of slim build wearing black track pants, a black shirt, a grey zip up hoody and a blue baseball cap with “Taylor Made” written across the front.

He was wearing sunglasses, black gloves with white striping on the back and white running shoes. He was also reported to be wearing a fake beard.

The suspect fled on foot, in a northbound direction on Main Street.

Extensive police patrols failed to locate the man.
