Penticton RCMP nab break and enter suspects with help of civilian

PENTICTON -  After Penticton police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on White Road earlier this week, it turns out the occupants of the vehicle were wanted for multiple offences including a break and enter in Keremeos.

Police responded to call yesterday, Dec. 19, regarding a Red Honda Civic on the 1600 block of White Road. When police attended, they noticed it was a stolen vehicle with an Alberta licence plate and visible damage.

An investigation by police showed the vehicle was stolen out of Surrey, according to a media release issued today.

Police say a short struggle ensued between the male driver but he was eventually taken into custody. A female passenger was also arrested.

Officers found multiple break and enter tools inside the vehicle and also noted the male suspect matched the description of a wanted suspect for a break and enter at a Keremeos business the night prior.

Police say both suspects have lengthy criminal records and are being held to appear before a justice of the peace.
