Penticton RCMP are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian yesterday.
First responders were called to the intersection of Nanaimo Avenue and Winnipeg Street around 7:40 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 15, following a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to an RCMP media release.
Police arrived to find a 68-year-old man being treated by B.C. Ambulance personnel. He was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.
"The Penticton RCMP have many resources assisting with this investigation, and are asking for any witnesses, along with any dash camera and surveillance video of this incident someone may have, to contact them,” police spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in the release.
Anyone who might have witnessed the incident, or who might have information, is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, and quote file 2021-2374.
