RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the detachment is assisting the Joint Search Co-ordination Centre in Victoria with their search for the aircraft which was reported missing Saturday evening, Nov. 25 after it failed to arrive in Edmonton.

Moskuluk says the two people on board the missing Mooney single-engine plane have been identified as pilot Dominic Neron, 28, and his passenger Ashley Bourgeault, 31, both of Alberta.

Joint Search Co-ordination Centre spokesperson Katelyn Moores says a Cormorant helicopter, a Buffalo aircraft and a Parks Canada helicopter continued the search today, Nov. 30, but poor weather conditions “continue to be a concern.”

Search efforts are concentrated 10 nautical miles north of Revelstoke.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact their local police as efforts continue to locate the two missing people.
