PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP’s Targeted Enforcement Unit took a prohibited driver off the road and recovered stolen property last week.

RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says the officers observed known property offenders on Oct. 27 driving a grey 1997 GMC pickup, knowing the pair were prohibited from doing so.

Police continued their surveillance at the Meadowlark Motel and observed them driving to the Walmart parking lot where they spotted police.

The pair were stopped after driving in a dangerous manner to avoid police.

The driver was arrested for driving while prohibited and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed a stolen generator, propane tank and other stolen items in the vehicle.

One man was held in custody pending a court date.
