Penticton Peach Festival has its headline acts lined up for this summer’s event and it will be a trip back in time with Glass Tiger and Honeymoon Suite.

Opening night on Aug. 5 will feature Honeymoon Suite with opening act Doug & the Slugs, Peach Festival director of communications Kristy Patton announced in a press release.

Honeymoon Suite is known for hits “New Girl Now,” “Feel it Again,” and “What Does it Take,” with "New Girl Now" making it to the top 50 in the U.S., the release states. The Canadian rock group is planning the release of a new album this year. Honeymoon Suite's first single in 27 years “Tell me What you Want” was released in November.

Doug & the Slugs continues to play their original hits after regrouping in 2004 following the death of lead singer Doug Bennett.

This year’s country star is Shawn Austin and he will perform Aug. 6. His debut single “Paradise Found” has made him one of Canada’s top 10 country artists on radio with more than six million collective streams to date.

Simply Queen is booked for Tribute Night on Aug. 7 along with Fab Forever, for a night of Queen and Beatles tributes. The Fab Forever were invited to represent Canada at the international Beatleweek in Liverpool, England.

Classic Canadian rockers Glass Tiger hit the stage on Aug. 8 to play such well-known hits as “Don’t Forget Me (When I'm Gone)” and others.

One of the top piano players in the world returns to Penticton to close out the festival on Aug. 9 as Ben Waters returns to the Peters Brothers stage.

"We have a strong lineup of favourites who we know have packed Okanagan Lake Park full of their fans at previous Peach Festival’s and other artists who will be making their first appearance and are sure to draw big crowds,” Peach Festival president Don Kendall said in the release.

Organizers say there will be more announcements in the lead up to the August festival as the full schedule is released.
