PENTICTON - A Penticton man died alone in his SUV after the vehicle left the road and rolled into Farleigh Lake Halloween morning.

A media release from the B.C. Coroners Service states Thomas Viji Santosham, 74, was the sole occupant and driver of the SUV while travelling southeast on Farleigh Lake Road East, 12 kilometres west of Penticton just after 6:30 a.m. Oct. 31. The vehicle went into the lake but it wasn't until 8 a.m. that a neighbour happened to spot it and make the call to 911.

Santosham was recovered, dead, from the lake by an RCMP dive team later in the day.

Santosham's family has been notified of his death. The RCMP and coroner continue to investigate.
