PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are investigating following an early morning assault involving a baseball bat.

Police were summoned to the 200 block of Winnipeg Street in Penticton around 10 a.m. this morning, Sept. 11, on a report of two men in an altercation, according to an RCMP media release.

Witnesses told RCMP a man assaulted a second man with a baseball bat while the two were on the sidewalk.

Officers found the victim with minor injuries at the scene, while the other man was located at a nearby residence, RCMP say.

Police were able to determine the men were known to each other and both were equally involved in the assault, a reason for which has yet to be determined. Both men are known to police.
