Fans will no longer need to jostle for a good position to catch the action in Penticton at this summer's Ironman triathlon, as the event will be streamed on Facebook.
The iconic race which returns to Penticton this summer after an eight-year absence will be streamed live on Facebook Watch, giving fans the chance to watch the race no matter where they are.
The Subaru Ironman Canada triathlon takes place in Penticton on Aug. 30. According to a Subaru Ironman Canada media release, the Penticton triathlon will be one of 19 events from around the world streamed on Facebook Watch this year.
Ironman says the live coverage will incorporate Facebook Watch Parties, as well as real-time polls, fan discussion and content generated from spectators along the course.
To kick-off, the Ironman season's live coverage, the Nutri-Grain Ironman New Zealand race will be broadcast on Facebook Watch, March 7.
