Another Penticton festival has fallen to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Pentastic Jazz Festival Society board of directors announced yesterday, May 12, the 24th annual event, which was slated to take place Sept. 11 to 13, would not take place due to restrictions still expected to be in place to control the virus.

“It is with regret and disappointment that we are not in a positions to move forward with the festival this year. The event falls within Phase 4 of the province’s plan to remove crowd and border restrictions and therefore it is unrealistic to continue with plans for this year,” society president Michael Campbell said in a press release.

The board’s focus has now shifted to planning for the 24th annual Pentastic Jazz Festival scheduled for Sept. 10 through 12, 2021.
