KELOWNA - A 60-year-old man has been transferred to hospital in Vancouver after getting hit by a car while crossing Harvey Avenue in the middle of the Bank Road intersection.
RCMP investigators continue to question the people who watched Saturday night as the man was launched onto the hood of the car and thrown to the pavement.
The victim suffered serious pelvic injuries. He’s been transferred to Vancouver General.
“Numerous witnesses were present at the scene,” Sgt. Greg Woodcox said. “They are cooperating with the police investigation which continues.”
The incident happened at about 9:15 p.m.
Harvey was closed at Banks, “for a short period of time while a traffic analyst examined the scene,” according to Woodcox.
RCMP say the driver of the car wasn’t drunk and won’t be facing any Criminal Code or Motor Vehicle Act charges.
No comment from the RCMP on a report the victim was under the influence.
